So, what is boudoir photography exactly?
What exactly is a boudoir? The word has come to mean 'bedroom' in modern English, but more specifically, it symbolises a private, safe place for a woman to engage in an activity of her choice. Regarding photography, a boudoir shoot is a sexy session for the bride to pose alone in lingerie–before tying the knot.
How long does it take?
Though it depends on your photographic experience will probably last about one to two hours. Why so long? It takes time for hair and makeup, plus the additional lighting setup. It may also bring you a little while to relax. Most women aren't used to lounging around wearing little if any, clothing in front of the camera, so your first few shots will likely look a bit stiff.
What should I wear?
The most important thing is to choose outfits that make you feel sexy. A good rule of thumb: Bring something white, something black, and something in a bright colour so you can mix and match. A corset will create sexy curves. In addition to lingerie, don't forget shoes and jewellery.
Should I bring anyone along?
Though you don't want to turn your shoot into a three-ring circus, bringing a friend is a good idea. Why? You may feel more at ease if you can make a few jokes with a pal, plus she may be able to help with suggestions—another idea: Bring a bottle of bubbly. A little champagne may help loosen things up. You'll be posing like a pro in no time.
How much does a Boudoir photo shoot cost?
Your Photographic boudoir photo shoot experience costs £595, including your home or wedding venue, without hair and make-up; many brides have their make-up and hair done by someone they know. If it is a hotel location, you may need to pay a room hire charge.
