Capturing Love and Splendour: Our April Wedding Adventures Across South WalesOur April Wedding Photography Adventures Across South Wales
April has always been a significant month for weddings, and this year was no exception. At One Vision Photography and Videography, we had the joy of capturing the most beautiful and intimate moments for couples across South Wales, from the rustic charm of Llechwen Hall to the enchanting settings of Gellifawr Woodland Retreat. This blog post delves into our experiences and showcases how we brought these special days to life through our photography and videography expertise. Llechwen Hall: A Rustic Dream Nestled on the lush hilltop overlooking the Cynon Valley, Llechwen Hall was our first stop in April. This venue, known for its breathtaking views and rustic charm, provided a picturesque backdrop for a heartwarming ceremony. The key to photographing at Llechwen Hall lies in utilising the natural light that sweeps through its expansive windows. For videography, capturing the soft, golden hours of early evening when the light bathes the couple in a warm glow made for some truly cinematic moments. The sprawling grounds allowed us to use drones for aerial shots, adding a dramatic and expansive feel to the wedding videos.
Oldwalls: Elegance in the Heart of Gower Moving on to the Gower Peninsula, Oldwalls set the scene for elegance and sophistication. Known for its luxurious setting, this venue provided a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor beauty. Photographing here meant capturing reflective shots across the serene lakes and the lush, green landscape that surrounds the property. Using a shallow depth of field helped us focus on the intimate moments amidst the grandeur of the venue. Videography at Oldwalls benefitted from smooth, steady cam techniques, especially during the emotional walk down the aisle, set against the venue’s stunning interiors.
St Tewdrics House: A Historical Romance St Tewdrics House, a 19th-century Italianate villa in Chepstow, offered a historical romance setting. The Tuscan-inspired architecture and beautifully manicured gardens are ideal for both classic and contemporary wedding photos. Here, we focused on capturing the grandeur of the architecture with the couple's narrative, incorporating the ancient stones and vibrant gardens. In video, the historical elements of St Tewdrics were highlighted through dynamic, moving shots that portrayed the timeless elegance of the venue.
Court Colman Manor: Culturally Rich and Picturesque At Court Colman Manor, we explored its culturally rich landscapes, from the serene Zen gardens to the grandeur of the manor itself. This venue is a photographer's dream for thematic weddings. Capturing the uniqueness of each themed room, from the French to the Indian suite, added a special touch to each wedding album. For videography, incorporating elements like the calming sound of the garden’s fountain and the rustling leaves brought an immersive sensory experience to the wedding films.
Clearwell Castle: A Fairy-tale Setting Clearwell Castle, with its imposing towers and majestic ballrooms, transports you into a fairy-tale. The castle’s historic and opulent interiors were perfect for grand, cinematic shots, while the exteriors, with their ivy-clad façade, provided a romantic, timeless backdrop. Using a combination of wide-angle and macro lenses, we captured both the grandiosity and the detailed intricacies of the day. The fairy-tale setting was further enhanced in video through the use of orchestral music overlays, creating a majestic audio-visual narrative.
Gellifawr Woodland Retreat: Into the Woods Our journey ended at Gellifawr Woodland Retreat, a venue as mystical as it sounds. Set deep within the Welsh countryside, it offered a secluded, enchanting backdrop perfect for couples looking for intimacy and natural beauty. Photography here focused on the raw, natural elements—capturing the interplay of light through the trees and the intimate spaces carved by nature itself. In videography, slow-motion shots of the couple wandering through the woods, intertwined with wildlife sounds, crafted a storybook-like narrative.
